Wouldn't stay or eat there if my life depended on it. Hope the lawsuit bankrupts you!
Fired an employee who needed sick leave as his wife lay dying. She eventually died and the Hotel fired him for his leave. If they are this heartless to their own employees, imagine how customers are treated. Shame on management. .
No mater the quality of the place - their employment practices speak volumes about the owner and management of the establishment. Terminating a man who took time to be with his dying wife is so cold and uncaring, that's it's difficult to imagine how they can respond to the needs of their guests. They don't deserve your business. Go to the Staten Island Advance - and read the article by Frank Donnelly, titied:"Caring for dying wife cost chef at tony hotel his job, lawsuit alleges " dated 4/9/2014
It's not just cruel what Paris did...it's illegal. He had every right to ask the employee when he was returning, but instead of firing him, he should have given him the option of taking unpaid medical leave, per the Family Medical Leave Act. Since Paris is employed by the hotel, what he did, the hotel did. I come to NY several times a year and will not patronize The Crosby Street Hotel or its outlets. I will also discourage my extensive social network of event planners and fellow avid travelers from doing business with TCSH.
No stars! No one should stay or eat here. No compassion for their employees or their families. Paris should never get a job anywhere..
Nice job with your choice of Executive Chef...fire an employee while his young wife is dying...real class act- that piece of shit employee of yours was the wrong one fired
