Overrated – My friend and I went on a Saturday night with reservations. The decor was beautiful, unfortunately, the food wasn't. The foie gras terrine was terrible, the wild boar was tough and flavorless, and the asparagus and garlic risotto was salty. The martini was weak also. Servers took forever to come by and refill our wine glasses. There are much better restaurants in Dallas. Don't waste your time with this one.

The entire dining experience was like a finely choreographed performance, The BEST SERVICE in Dallas by far. – As my guest and I entered the restaurant we were greeted with a warm welcome and a bright smile from the Maitre d? followed by one of the Managers, after being escorted to a table we were very impressed by the hospitality, manor, and overall attitudes of the entire staff. I would have to say with the first impression and analysis of the staff and restaurant it was like a thriving, adapting, and progressing team of t... read more

NOT happy – i was very excited to drive into dallas to experience the "craft experience" only to be let down in a waste of time way. i could've saved the time, gas and money to have a wonderful meal here in austin. the front of the house service was great, our waiter so-so, and the food alright. Nothing special. the worst dish was the sea bass. was not flakey, skin was tough and rubbery and a lil fishy. the mushroom assortment was bland yet salty, didn't make sense to me either! :P And worst of all the waiter didn't care if ... read more

Great food, great service – I went to the Dallas outpost of the original Craft Restaurant in New York City. Tom Colicchio has really worked his magic. The food here is creative, elegant and delicious. The waitstaff was highly attentive. The food is served family style and meant to share. While simple, the dishes were amazing and brought together some of the best flavors from around the world. I dined on Kobe Beef Skirt Steak, Scallops, Heirloom Beans Salad, Heirloom Squash and Roasted Mushrooms. All of the dishes were awesom... read more

Terrible Brunch – My friends and I go to brunch almost every weekend and we wanted to try something special for a birthday. We heard that Craft did brunch and we were very excited. However, we were extremely dissapointed. My egg sandwich did not have the promised blue cheese, which was the whole reason i ordered it! Then, they charged me when I asked for some. The duck confit hash browns, were packaged, frozen hashbrowns (the kind that are perfectly square and soggy) and the duck confit was two little pieces ontop that didn'... read more

Reputation saved, thanks to Craft! – After a 75-minute wait for a reserved table the night before, I phoned Craft to make sure our group of 12 would be seated on arrival. Of course, they said: ours is a high class restaurant. And so it was. Our table was waiting (this in spite of a huge convention in town) and we sat down to an outstanding and varied meal. The approach is different: You choose from a list of foods and decide how each is to be prepared. They are served "family style." The selection of foods and styles of prep... read more

Bad Food, Bad Service – When you are going to spend 100 dollars per person on dinner, you expect delicious food, and impeccable service right? Not the case with Craft. The food was way below par. We had 2 different salads that were very plain and not tasty, the NY strip was inedible, it was as if the meat had gone bad. The Sole with lemon sauce was average but that is not hard to mess up. The side dishes: Sweet potatoes- had a weird spice on them, although they looked nice with the carmelized marshmallows. Pumpkin Ravioli- t... read more

Pretty. Lacking. – Like the rest of the W - over-rated. Chestnut soup was creative, but too sweet. Salmon mostly good, but center temperature was too cool - let the fish rest a little before cooking or cook at lower temperature. Braised short rib over-cooked - it's a robust meat and needed some more texture. Bacon and Abalone Risotto was gaggingly oversalted. Assorted mushrooms were great and even though it was just a side-dish, the best plate of the evening. Waiter added someone else's drinks to my bill in error. Great spac... read more

Great concept, a bit inconsistent – ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!!! I really think this will be the first NY restaurant to make it in Dallas. Not expecially because of the food - more because of the way the menu is set up to encourage sharing and everyone ordering different things and passing the plates. We've been there a couple times with 6 - 10 people and it is always fun to order a bunch of differnt things and pass it around. The food was not as consistently stellar as I wanted it to be. Only about 25% of the things we ha... read more
