Dr Nelson is so easy to talk to. I haven’t had a male PCP in at least 20 years . He doesn’t send you to a specialist unless you need one. He is very up front. I was very impressed with him and with his staff.

Sick visits are scheduled 6 weeks out. Unacceptable for a primary care physician.

Started off ok, but over time, he has gotten increasingly sloppy with him s note taking and too many inconsistent notes started appearing in chart. Office is impossible to reach, and are very slow to respond to their portal, which is their preferred means of communication. Oh, and the scribe in the office! You would think that would allow for the doctor to spend more concentrated attention on the patient, not!

Had been my doctor for a few years. No more. Overall feeling has been that he practice is too big and bureaucratic and he has little interest in me, never has taken the time to get to know me and is hard to talk to. There is a "scribe" in the room to take notes so it's awkward if you want to talk about something personal. Look elsewhere if you are looking for personal attention and compassion.

He genially listens to your concerns and issues. He's not out for your money but your betterment in health. Once my partner was out of the room he asked the hard questions and lead me down the better path. He is a great Dr with a no BS attitude to help you get better. He doesn't judge, but will totally give his opinion, specially if you are a smoker.

I have been going to Dr Nelson for several years always takes his time is patient some times he gets hurried but it’s acceptable because he is a caring Doctor and has his patients best interest I believe you couldn’t ask for a more caring Doctor I don’t know where these bad ratings come from

Our first meeting with him was good. But when I needed genetic testing for my son, he said his staff wasn't large enough to deal with it. All he needed to do was call my insurance company and request a blood test. He said his office can't handle all the prior authorizations. He refused to have anyone even make one phone call to insurance. It made me wonder if he's always going to take the easy way out. If things get hard, they're just going to wash their hands of you.

In previous visits I have witnessed Dr Nelson’s dismissive attitude toward my elderly mother who is his patient. In attempting to get my 81 yr old mother off the roads, she used Uber today for the first time. This was difficult for her but she did a great job. I called the office and advised that she would be 10 to 15 minutes late and explained the situation and asked for some leeway. After arriving 15 min late, in pain & needing treatment I was told that Dr. Nelson was made aware of the situation and made the decision not t... read more

I moved to St Petersburg, Fl almost 3 years ago. I've seen several Internists/FamilyMedicine/DO Doctors. Dr. Nelson in the first Doctor that I have seen who did a complete history took the time to explain different issues that I have and actually asked me, "Do I have any other questions for him." I finally feel secure to turn over the management of my healthcare, knowing that I will receive the best care possible. I also have to commend the office, for being courteous, caring and helpful, especially Sharon for her patience a... read more
