Dana and Greg Boyce started Corbett Fish House on Oct. 1 2002. It was an instant success and no wonder: You just couldn't find really good fish & chips in Portland. Greg grew up in Green Bay where Friday night fish fry's are a tradition and a ritual. Since moving to Portland in 1980 he had searched the Northwest in vain for t... read more

The way I would describe my experience at this restaurant is akin to if you got a neatly wrapped present for your birthday, but had selected and packed it yourself. You ultimately get what you want, but only after waiting a very long time and when you finally open it, the present is somehow deeply unsatisfying. There fish and chips are fabulous and not the over-breaded stuff you get at other places . We each got the half and Hal where you get to pick two types. My boyfriend had the chili catfish and oysters in his and they are both delicious! I had the chili'd cod and shrimp and loved it. It was the Packers playoff game and the whole crowd was fired up! We had a blast and love this place!
Perfect for my new Dairy Free/GF diet! We'll see how long I last on this grand experiment!
Fried cheese curds and everything on the menu is gluten free! It's a must visit when in Portland whether you are gluten free or not... sooo good!

I googled Portland Packers bars and chose the Corbett St. location because it was closest to Salem. I was surprised they had perch!!!! That alone will keep me coming back. Ny waiter was friendly, but slow and disorganized. Not the most lively place (will try Hawthorne) to watch a game, but I definitely appreciate that the place exists!
Cheese Curds were delicious - although smaller than I would consider to be traditional, the flavor was excellent. The chicken strips were a good value - the portion size was large for the price. The torte was fantastic. Went during a packer game, which was fun. The screen positions weren't great and not everyone in our party had an easy time watching. The owner sat at the bar on a laptop the entire time we were there, but did not interact with the guests, which I found a little outputting. In general a nice place and I would... read more
