NEVER AGAIN!!! CROOKS!! MISLEADING!!! BAIT AND SWITCH!!! I took my car for a smog repair, the sad part the car passed the first time they put it in the machine!!! which it register with the state and IT PASSED!! But NO! NO! they decide it to dig and find stuff so the they can cashed the 500.00 the state gives you when you need help with your smog repair!! I have the documentation to prove it!!! So if anyone wants to challenge this BRING IT!!! Watch the dude Joe Melanson, he is Head Hancho of them all! CROOKSS!
Work is unreliable; staff are rude I have taken my car here several times and most recently I learned that the timing belt service they did on my 1999 Honda CRV lasted less than 35,000 before the water pump started leaking. (these services when done right should last 90 - 100K miles). I now have to pay to have this done all over again and I am going to a different shop.
New Clutch Gone Bad I am a military member and used Convoy Auto Repair's services in early 2008. I had a new clutch, pressure plate and release bearing installed into my Honda. I drove the car to Virginia then back to San Diego where I put it in storage for 1 year while overseas. While in storage the car was started and moved on a monthly basis. 2003 Subaru Now Like New Amazing. When we brought our 120k+ mileage Subaru in for a check-up, we knew it was time for an overhaul. Convoy made several recommendations (both immediate and precautionary in nature) that we did over 2 months. On the last round, we had dropped the car off for new struts and Joe called to say we really needed to replace the wheel bearings (we always wondered what that loud rumbling noise was in the rear...). Convoy will get my business for life!!! Its unfortunate that some reviews are so negative because I have had nothing but a great professional experience with Convoy Auto of the past couple of years. I have a lifted Chevy Truck and I was experiencing some problems with the ABS engaging prematurely. Don't make the mistake I did and take your car to Convoy... These guys are HORRIBLE! I went in for an alignment because it looked like a reliable and fair place to go. After six hours of waiting, I finally called to see why it was taking so long. They told me I had a bent control arm and they could not complete the alignment without fixing it first. Convoy Auto I found out I was having an issue with my engine. I brought it into the shop so the team could run diagnostics. The engine was repaired for a total of over $2k. Less than 2 months later my car comes to a dead stops in the middle lane of the freeway during rush hour. The diagnostics came back with engine failure as the cause. I had my car towed to Convoy Auto and they said I need to either get a new engine or a used engine because mine now useless. The used engine would be $3200 parts and labor. Don't always stand behind what they sell When I had my car in for other "maintenance repairs" of $3,000 (had used this company for years) they INSISTED, PRESSURED and wouldn't take no for an answer about saying I needed to replace the battery in my car even though I had a very good, not old, major brand battery that I was not having any problem with.
