This community started out as a great place to live. It felt like a home to us. During the past 2 years with management changes we have been misled several times. We were told we could have a gas grill at first which I agree the office leasing assistant misinformed us but then we were told we could have an electric grill. I do not recommend Cortland University City as a safe or professionally managed place to live. My experience has been marked by repeated service failures, unresolved maintenance issues, and a concerning lack of accountability from management. For months, the key fob system on my building was broken. Although the door would lock, residents were unable to gain entry using their issued fobs. December 24 2023 Still without fixing anything as far as pipes in walls. Still no bath for three years. Only showers. In North Carolina, landlords can raise the rent for any reason as long as they give proper notice, don't do so during the fixed term of a lease (unless the lease allows for it), and aren't doing so for certain discriminatory reasons.Jan 5, 2023 Been here over 10 years what a shame . I've got to share this hidden gem! I absolutely love Cortland... The location is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Mall and everything else you need. The beautiful grounds area with lakeview to enjoy a scenic walk with duckies. Plus, as a young lady, I appreciate it's gated and a safe community. Moved in 4 months ago and I love it here. The move in process was seamless. The property is beautiful and the amenities are top tier, and the community itself is more quiet than anticipated. It truly feels like living in a high end resort.
