--Update 08/01/2024-- After another call today, I spoke with a more understanding billing person who reviewed my claim and submitted the adjustment. This has provided some relief. It was disappointing that the first billing person insisted the certified coder was correct without offering any additional explanation, as if the coder could not make a mistake—especially when the coder wasn't even present during my appointment. I visited CommUnityCare William Cannon for a preventative exam and to renew a prescription from my former physician, whose office shut down. They asked me the purpose of the medication, and I explained, but no new diagnostic tests were performed. Despite this, I was billed for an office visit, which isn't covered by my insurance. When I contacted the billing department, they insisted their coder was correct and refused to adjust the charge. I've renewed this prescription at many other offices without any issue.
