Best Credit Union I have EVER done business with!!
It's a bad day when I'm informed my card has been declined due to fraudulent charges and I must replace my card...So I go into a branch and discover that the machine that is used to make new cards is down at all the locations and they don't know when it will be back in operation. So what is a customer suppose to do when automatic charges start being declined?
I was livid with my water company Suez, their lack of customer service and obsolete way of conducting business almost caused me to pay additional fees. I called CACU and Beth answered. She was courteous, empathetic and most importantly saved me from paying an additional fee. Because she is a banking professional she saved me from making the mistake of closing a bank account that I"ve had since I first started working at TWA in 1969. The TWA credit union became Community America. Thank you Beth, you made my day.
I should preface this, that in the past I have had mostly good experience working with the Credit Union. My most recent experience has not been a pleasant one. In trying to do a new hybrid home equity loan and after I was qualified I agreed to put up the $425 Appraisal fee. Apparently, CACU does not like when you deposit checks through the AtM. Instead of calling me, sending a message through the app or at the very least sending an email, they sent a letter in the mail to tell me they were holding the funds. By the time I read the letter I had paid bills as my account was not showing anything. Of course, you call and it's my fault and they can't do anything and have now charged me NSF fees but my balance still shows available. We switched from a local bank to CACU about 4 years ago. We've been happy with our service until this last week. We have 21 fraudulent charges show up as pending. We immediately called to try to get the stopped. They were unable to do this and told us to call the company were the pending charges were from. It was Dell and there customer service is in India and they could not understand the issue well enough to help us. We went to get a new card, no problem.
