I just gave birth to my first baby and I am just so amazed at how incredibly wonderful the maternity ward is! I have had such an awesome experience! Everyone of the staff members are lovely and are so great at their jobs no matter what the job is- nurses, drs, anesthesia, techs, down to the women who clean the room, bring ya lunch breakfast dinner, and also towels and things like that! We entered the emergency room around 8:00 pm on a Friday night and was seen by the 1 physician on duty at 1:00 am. and left the hospital at 2:00 am. This is just disgusting the way they run this hospital. We understood that people were sick with the flu, but to make people wait that long is a crime. If my husband did not need antibiotic for an infection, we would have left. But this was a Friday and he needed it for the weekend. The staff is great and obviously frustrated as we were. My husband went in for hernia surgery and I have nothing but good things to say about his whole experience. From the pre- op testing right through surgery and discharge everyone was professional and kind . Dr. Lowry was fantastic as well as all the nurses and staff!! Dr Silverstein was his anesthesiologist and along with his team was great also. In the many years my family has been using CMC we have always had good experiences. I thought I would write this to show another side of the hospital other than the complaints.
Tonite wasn't my first rodeo with Community.... Unfortunately my mom is a frequent flyer here and has spent months at a time here over the last few years... She's at the end stages of kidney failure and she makes many visits to the ER a month... Usually by ambulance and we meet her there.... The worst hospital I have ever been to! My husband fell and injured his hip and was brought by ambulance to the ER. I met him there and was initially impressed by the gentleman, Sam at the desk. He explained that my husband went to X-ray and should be back shortly. My husband is a very sick man. He is dealing with tumors through his intestines along with failing kidneys.
