The staff and nurses here are great but trapped by outmoded management practices. This hospital in Pueblo needs to learn patient-centric practices instead of waking patients up every hour because of their own convenience and schedule. Arcane policies require a nurse to get a patient out of bed at 3am to take height and weight, Then blood at 4am, then so other process at 5am. Part of the reason my dad is doing so poorly is that the hospital is depriving him (ergo me and my family) of sleep.
CONNIE B who works at the xray/diagnostics checkin/registration is very rude and assumes..... she obviously needs re trained.... u dont just put a mother or fathers name on stuff without asking or knowing who is bringing the patient... When IN THE MEDICAL FIELD YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER ASSUME..... not to mention it shouldnt take 25 minutes just to get registered when she only registered 1 person before my son and there was almost 15 minutes before she called my sons name.... if shed do her job instead of drink her coffee and ch... read more
I had my 2 girls there. The staff was always so intentive and wanted to make sure i was as comfortable as possible. Their cancer and stroke centers are incredible saved my grandmas life and helped my grandpa beat cancer once.
They refused to save my newborn baby whom I had preterm labor with. DO NOT DELIVER HERE!
3 stars, wait time was ridiculous at the ER. We were there from midnight till after 3 am. For a toe injury! We walked through fast track to get x-rays done on my son's foot at 1 am. So we'd already waited an hour. There were 3 rooms not being used. But they took us back out to the waiting room where we sat until close to 2. At 2 they took us to the OB/GYN room, FOR A TOE INJURY! Because they "didn't have any rooms available" but fast track was....... We sat in the OB/GYN room for at least another 20-30 mins before anyone cam... read more
So far so good, I noticed there nominated nurse sign. But the staff all treated me well everyone I dealt with. I could not pick one out as they all did well.
I've been to St. Mary's 4 times now for my husband and several times for a friend. The Doctor's seem to truly care. They aways explain everything going on and keep us educated on my husband's health and risks associated with what they are doing. I think it's a great hospital and would highly recommend to anyone in the Valley
