This is a neighborhood gem! The owner is usually in the restaurant and is a lovely man. The service is great, the food is too. There are ample ample options for vegetarians, especially meze. The skewers are very good and so is the lamb. The board in front claims that it's the best lamb in DC. They may be right. I certainly wouldn't suggest otherwise.
Amazing food that came out quick and delicious, and the service was very friendly, and gave us incredible recommendations based on our particular tastes. Could eat the eggplant every day!

I wanted to try Persian food for the first time and Kookoo did not disappoint. The owner greeted us at the door, asked us how we were and how we found the restaurant. All great signs he takes pride in his restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful - Persian art on the walls and lovely plates.
