Spent hours looking for the perfect Betta, only for it to be put in a box and left on a shelf for five days so that it was dead before they even shipped him. White fuzz was growing on the body when he arrived.

Update they've been fulfilling orders on ebay but not from the website. I've filed a BBB complaint but there's just no response. First purchased a gift betta for my mom a year ago. All was well. I bought myself a betta January 15th 2021 and still cannot get anyone to reply to an email or customer service questions. The money was extracted immediately. Ordered an L190 Royal Pleco along with some other stuff a week ago. About a $200 order all together. Everything said in stock online when I ordered. When we put in the order we also emailed the company and said that we could come pick up the fish when the order was ready. They never responded to the email so we spent the next week just trying to get ahold of them. I tried SEVERAL times to get satisfaction from Coast Gem. Ordered a pair of guppies. Male was beautiful female appeared to have been dead several days. Calls, emails photos for proof and still months later nothing. It's my belief they mailed her dead or dying. I told CG that and female guppy of similar value would do. Unfortunately I could NOT give them zero star. I would NOT buy from them!!! Pictures look great but none of their fish is ALIVE! They have horrible customer service and are non responsive. Bought a betta fish from them and it was DOA (dead on arrival) the first time. Took pictures and sent it over. Each shipment cost $18.00 and they shipped it 3 separate times and all of them arrived DOA. How can that be??? Maybe they are selling dead fish? Who knows? $18 X 3 = $54 Fish = $35 Total paid and no fish = $89.00

If I could give it 0 i would, the living conditions of these fish are down right horrifying. You walk in and see people sitting in the front with NO MASKS. Then its filthy!! and you literally turn the corner and there is a beta section, they all look like they're dying and are in cups of yellowish water??? Also, they have a tortoise who is in the store and sadly doesn't have its own little habitat and is just on the concrete floor. AVOID this company as their service is incompetent at best! I ordered several GIANT oranda from them to have 2 come in with major damage; several scales missing, torn tail fin, black bruising on the sides of the fish. Back ordered 2 fish and substituted others that were not close to the quality that I ordered. Would not credit or compensate me in any way. Now contacting my credit card company to open up a dispute against CQ Aqua.

I purchased 5 bloody mary shrimp that arrived doa and followed the instructions by providing a photo of the dead shrimp and never heard back from this company, I emailed them 2 additional times with no response!! BUYER BEWARE

Well I ordered 6 bettas on the 9th it's now the first of the next month and I still haven't received my fish! I called them twice and both told me different times in which my fish would ship out. I've since sent out 5 emails with no replies! I'm very disappointed with coast gem and will never order from them again. I'm an avid fish keeper and I'll be letting my friends whom are in the hobby as well to stay far away from this place. Ugh what a pain!
