I was seeking a new dentist to go to, and this popped up under my insurance. There wasn't a lot of clear communication, and they were quick to tell me I needed to pay for diagnostics out of pocket, then push expensive treatment while pointing to payment plans. It all felt very transactional instead of people actually interested in my health. The office itself has very old and worn equipment, and there was hair and dirt all over the floor. I left with an uneasy feeling and I don't think I will be going back.

I used to see Dr. Jamar McKay at Coast Dental for years. The practice was sold and all dentists now appear virtually from Tampa. They are very rushed. I don’t mind the outdated equipment and the dental hygienists are good, but I’ve definitely felt a push from this practice to spend more and more. I don’t know why I would receive an email thanking me for bringing my children in. My children were NOT seen. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with the scheduling department confirming that my insurance is in network. We showed up for the appointment, they collected my drivers license and insurance card, and was told that I didn’t complete the paperwork they sent me via text. Of course it went to my spam. I couldn’t afford the apartment even with my insurance so I was never able to make it. I am poor and obviously poor people don’t deserve dental work!! I can’t afford this place
