The Cliff House, where San Francisco begins (or ends), has always been a quaint and utterly charming stop for San Francisco visitors. Even with a renovation, the Cliff House maintains its original charm, but is now 21st-century spectacular. Gone are the old fashioned 1900s mahogany, tar and spar-like decor and fittings. I used to go to this place back in late 1970 and 1980 , every time i was here the food and of course the drinks were fantastic, I would rate this place a scale of 10, rrunner.
Feeling the history
I was there in 1994 with a group of friends. I had my first blooming onion there. The setting and the food/drinks were fantastic.
Carpet threadbare and bar service is abysmal. Very disappointing. View and historic surroundings are spectacular, but that's the only reason to waste your money here.
Started before I can remember, at less than 2 years old, eating in the wonderful Cliff House of the early 50's with my parents. Apparently I was such a ham the waiters all like to wait on us! Since I can remember, the food has always, always been extraordinary, well-presented and just SO tasty !
Great place with a view and very good food!!!
