I live in Louisiana but I spent a few months in Seattle recently. The one resteraunt I wish we had here is Claim Jumpers. They would do very well here where people love huge servings. I thought they were the best value we found there and seasoned their food well also. The one complaint we had in Seattle is that resturaunts seem to be afraid to season their food. Much of it was bland especially when one is accustomed to N'arlins style cooking.
1 step down from Hungry-Man frozen meals – If you like can't tell the difference between fresh and frozen food then this place is for you. Long waits for huge quantities of sub-par food. I spent $13 on pork loin, and it came on a bed of soggy, lukewarm, obviously frozen vegetables, and smothered in ridiculous amounts of bland bbq sauce. Rude service and our food took forever. I've been here more than once and have yet to have a good experience. I will not be going back.
Worth the wait – We went to Claim Jumper at about nine in the evening and it took 55 minutes to seat our party of 12. The food was worth the long wait though. I picked off everyone's plates and everything I had was great. Try the bread pudding and the chocolate chip calzone for dessert.
Great Salads & Appetizers – This place is known for its impossible-to-eat-it-all portions and the meat entrees. However, as a vegetarian (accompanying her meat-craving husband) I was pleasantly surprised to find many things I could eat. I had a pear-walnut salad that was fabulous (couldn't keep the hubby away from it) and very filling. say no to chicken fried steak – claim jumper's is good food, and large portions, but the chicken fried steak is hard and bland. the fried ribs on the appetizer menu is great and so is the bbq chicken pizza.
