I am head over heals in love with this city. Most people are friendly. We have beautiful natural and cultural resources. The city council is progressive but also wants to preserve what makes Wilmington awesome. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that housing costs are skyrocketing and it is especially hard on public servants like teachers and firefighters as well as service workers such as baristas and retail employees.

As much as I like Wilmington it severely lacks internet options. What can be done to bring more competition in this area because I'm pretty sure people want more options than AT&T and time Warner cable for internet. Also why is chemours still allowed to discharge gen x in the city's water when they have said it's been in there since 1980? I hope chemours gets shut down, sued, and has jail time involved for anyone that knew about it. Also cfpua should have the same punishment just like the punishment I mentioned for chemours.... read more

Just wanted to say thanks to the good folks in the City of Wilmington for the parking ticket given to my folks who were visiting from Michigan, ages 63 and 67. We also really appreciate you all denying their appeal on the grounds of 'lack of knowledge is not an excuse'. I totally get it, when you put a ticket on car with Michigan plates driven by a couple old 60 somethings, it sure is a reasonable expectation that they know every local ordinance. Southern Hospitality? More like, here's your ticket, get off my lawn.
