awesome shop, great people and coffee. made my week vacation in Charleston worth waking up every morning
Great friendly atmosphere
Our room has a lousy Keurig appliance, and the tap water is not so hot. I sought the nearest coffee place around and found City Lights. Since I awake a couple of hours before my wife, I enjoy drinking coffee while catching up on reading. I loved this place! They pack an extraordinary amount of charm into the phone-booth sized room. I highly recommend City Lights Coffee, either for Jo or for the charming space. I don’t eat sweets, so I have no idea if the food is any good.
I love this shop. Unpretentious people, and so friendly. they didn't give me the "you're that weirdo" look when I ordered my decaf...and the decaf was awesome...not just watered down coffee like :p I'm very excited about coming back
Whether you're just visiting Charleston or have lived here forever City Lights Coffee should be made a top priority in your day. The coffee is first rate and the crew are all fantastic. I fell in love with the shop the first time I walked in. Quality coffee at a very affordable price complete with a top notch atmosphere and the best of the best crew.
My wife and I stopped in this morning and got a caramel macchiato, a coffee, and two muffins. Both of the folks there, a barista and a gentleman who I assume was the owner, were very pleasant and chatty. Everything we purchased was delicious, and made for the perfect breakfast. Thank y'all for the goodies, and the lovely conversation. We will see y'all the next time we visit SC. 😊😊
Phenomenal pressed 17 oz. dark roast, Latte and quiche or pastries for breakfast! Great service. We’ll be back.

I'm a Charleston photographer that stops here numerous times every week. The coffee is fantastic and priced competitively (doesn't cost nearly as much as a cup of Starbucks and the quality is infinitely better). And the staff is fantastic! I'm quickly becoming a regular at this coffee shop!
