This place sucks I tried to give these guys three months worth of the benefit of the doubt. Stupid I know. But after they had me pay 60 bucks to replace a part in my drive train, then pay that again when the part they put in there didn't work, then not attach the part properly, so the crank started coming off, then they told me that they needed to replace the whole thing (a 200 dollar value), indicating that they would cover it, but I then had to argue with their desk guy about the warranty because the other guy who had bill... read more
Nice local store Lovely store. The staff is very knowledgable and very friendly. I felt really comfortable asking as many questions as I wanted and was very pleased with the selection that they had. I only went in for a light but after the pleasent experience I had I will go back for other accessories. It's near Eastern Market metro, a couple blocks down.
DC tricksters I love the staff at this sporting goods store. My bike is my life, and the staff at City Bikes keeps me up to date with everything that is new in the industry. If you need a part this the store to visit. If you are looking for consultation on how to perform the best trick these are the people you need to work with. I highly recommend this store in Adams Morgan.
Competent & Fast I recently relocated to DC & my bike needed some serious work, to the point I almost bought a new one. I took it to City Bikes where they replaced a few parts, cleaned up some others and made my 10 year old MTB feel like new. They are a bit pricey, but the added value of location & competence is worth it. PROS: Quality, Fast Service CONS: A little pricey
Where else can you stock yoour bike in DC? Unless you're going to go outside the city to a major sporting goods store, City Bikes is the best place to meet your needs. The store isn't any bigger than the other tiny shops that line the streets of Adams Morgan, but fortunately bike parts are very small so they can stock a lot of goods in there. Cold & Disdainful Is Best I Can Say I thought perhaps the employee was having a bad day the first time I went in to the Adams Morgan store. He grudgingly acknowledged my existence and said as little as possible in response to my questions. Gave them the benefit of the doubt & went in 2 more times. The place is convenient to my home & that's the only thing in the plus column. Awful shop have called this shop a few times asking for certain parts/tools and have received awful customer service. I don't know who answers your phones, but today (6/18/2008) around 5:20PM I called and when I asked to see if city bikes carried a tool i need, this person told me to come by the shop because he could not go and take a step to check on it for me.
