This restaurant has a fantastic beet veggie burger and wonderful, authentic atmosphere.
I'll give it a 3. The staff was awesome. No complaints there. After hearing all this great talk about the place, it was time to try. Not impressed. Took forever to get food. It was not busy at all. There were many open tables and booths. The burger was way over done and burnt. Fries were good. But that's about it.

I was at the Citizen Burger for the first time on June 11th. I had the chicken sandwich with fries and it was AMAZING! It was HUGE and flavorful and presented beautifully. Kevin was our server. He was personable and professional and saw to our every need. I will certainly go back. I also had a Mimosa and it was fabulous.
We enjoyed marvelous burgers with local ingredients, excellent local beers and perfect service!
Be prepared to wait for a table, but they make a mean margarita and the burgers are great.
Was very pleased with the food and service on a very busy Friday night. Lots of great toppings for my burger & the onion rings were awsome ! A little pricey but worth it!
Absolutely the BEST burger we've ever eaten! My husbands favorite food are burgers, and we struggle to find one that we love. Well, we found it!!! Perfectly cooked, all natural, great prices, & fresh cut fries 🍟 (which is my fav) were perfect too! A MUST GO TO if ever in Charlottesville VA.
I had the Hotness Burger and it was delicious. I ordered some onion rings but they were not seasoned at all. Not even the citizens sauce saved them. I had to put salt and pepper on them to make them taste like something. I had my daughter with me and the booster seat that clipped on the table was awesome. Great beer and good food. Just get those onion rings down packed and you guys will be phenomenal
