Chutneys Bistro

4.1

About this business

Located in tastefully renovated Wallingford Center, Chutneys Bistro is one of three Chutneys in Seattle. The interior is casual yet tasteful with Indian accents throughout. The crowd comes from the neighborhood and nearby University of Washington. Authentic tandoori dishes come from a traditional clay oven. Curries with chicken, lamb and shrimp are cooked to perfection. Kothmir Chicken, cooked in a coconut curry sauce, is excellent. The soft warm naan bread helps diffuse the spicy heat.

Too Spicey! Ordered mild mango chicken and naan to go, (as I have done several times in the past). Mango sauce was very spicey and the naan was burnt. I called the restaurant to explain and was told the sauce was the same mild sauce as ever. Spoke with the cook and he argued that I was mistaken. In addition to being dissapointed in the meal, the staff was cold and abrupt. Too bad....it used to be good. Won't go there again.

Simply AMAZING! – ok folks, this Indian restaurant by far has captured my tase buds forever now! I have tried several Indian places in the NW, eventhough Seattle area has more than 150 indian restaurants Chutney's definetly stands out to me and my family/friends in every way imaginable...I saw some of the reviews that other "customers" wrote below me....seriously folks you need to quit being super picky and appreciate the culture and environment that this place has and shares with you, you won't find another place like this ... read more

Great Indian Food!! – Have tried many Indian restaurants and I have to say the Chuteny's Bistro in Wallingford is my favorite! The food is well prepared and they even have an menu with organic dishes and organic wines! We ordered Chicken Tikka masala and Saag paneer. Loved both and would recommend it to friends. Check it out for yourself. You will not be dissapointed! Free parking too. The phone number above is not correct on the city search site...it is 634-1000.

Poor quality food, fine service – The food at Chutney's has been a great disappointment on the last three occasions I ate there. I love Indian food and live right around the corner so I keep going, each time hoping that the last time was just a bad night. In my experience, every night is a bad night at Chutney's. We had the chicken appetizer, which was almost too dry to swallow and had a mild cardboard-like flavor. Chicken Biryani was rice colored with a coarse sauce flavored with pepper and little else. It was embedded with... read more

Great lunch buffet - amazing outdoor seating – Great patio, excellent place to relax, and the food is delicious (although can't vouch for authenticity), it's not cheap, but well worth it

Ehhh – OK, when i go out for Indian I am really looking for authentic Indian food. I understand that anything we get here in America isn't totally traditional, but some places do it much better than Chutneys. I mean, they honestly served caesar salad as part of the lunch buffet! If I wanted salad I could have walked across the street to the QFC and bought something for much cheaper. The food overall isn't bad, its just not that good considering how many good Indian restaurants we have in this town. Well, I guess they can't a... read more
