Excellent care from Dr. Salerno and staff.
Glad to be alive. Thank you Dr. Salerno.
Dr. Salerno saved my life. I had an rare condition in my ascending aorta. Only 1-2 people have it in the US each year. Dr. Salerno was able to remove it. He is a very approachable doctor who listens to his patients.
Dr. Salerno saved my life when my worsening heart failure reached a critical point. His skill as a surgeon is second to none yet he maintains an approachable personality. He and the rest of the team at St. Vincent work so well together. You can sense the respect the staff has for Dr. Salerno. I would recommend Dr. Salerno to anyone who is dealing with serious heart issues that can be remedied via heart transplantation or a heart assist device. The team of Dr. Salerno and the awesome staff at St. Vincent will do everything in... read more
Had surgery about 3 weeks ago. Exellant caring surgeon.
I had three heart operations over a seven year period . Each operation resulted in a single stent being placed. After the third operation, I didn't feel well and decided to see Dr Salerno who came highly recommended. Dr Salerno did a heart Cath then asked my wife to join us for consultation. He was honest with me knowing the news was difficult to hear. He was compassionate his knowledge and demeanor was more powerful than my fear and uncertainty. He saved my life with a quadruple bypass. This doctor saved my life; my EF was below 10% when I went into the ER; I was stabilized for a week before open-heart surgery. I was told by the cardiology team that I may need a transplant, but - despite 2 prior heart attacks - discovered during surgery - I didn't need an L-vad or a transplanted heart. A year later, my EF is up to 30-35%, due to a successful surgery, Entresto, Coreg & supplements, plus daily exercise & attention to diet. My heart problem was hereditary, get yours checked out!
