In my opinion this man isn't interested in his patient's condition at all. Never once even asked how I was feeling...I don't think he knows what my condition is...his only interest is getting people off meds, even though they help me. Swedish has made a big mistake. He treats me like he hates me.
Dr. Merifield should not be practicing pain management. He has no empathy, sympathy, or interest in resolving his patient's pain. He told me he doesn't talk to my other doctors because it's not his job. He told me I shouldn't be in pain. He told me it was my choice to be lying in bed. He has no inclination to help and he is an awful excuse of a doctor.
He is very critical about my previous doctor who retired. He doesn't read my chart to see everything that has been tried in the past. He has no compassion and I feel as if he doesn't think I am in pain. He wants to stop medications I'm taking and doesn't think I need RFA, even though I tell him how much it helps. When I ask what he plans to do instead, he always says he will discuss at next appointment, but never does. He doesn't listen to me and dismisses my pain as if he could care less.
Dr. Merifield is new to a practice that has a great reputation. He’s not well suited there. He said no one should take even low dose opioids unless they have cancer. He admitted he knew nothing about my disease, but he rolled his eyes and scoffed at the treatments of every specialist I’ve seen (including pain specialists at a teaching hospital). He also makes overt sexist comments. Worst clinician I’ve ever seen.
This Dr. Is confused in what his job is he preaches any thing 10 weeks post op has no pain incredible that he can sit across from you and tell you that you have zero pain and then he goes on to say he will prescribe meds he is comfortable with after being told there is zero pain .What is Dr. ? Don't waist your time with this Doc He is only in for a paycheck!
This Dr. Has The ability to tell a patient if they are in pain incredible He states that anything ten weeks post op is no need of pain meds then goes on to preach that he will prescribe meds that he is comfortable with what is it meds or not? Simply said he has no care for the patient it's about him obtaining a paycheck he is the worst Dr. I have seen for treatment save your time and money he is a fake!
I saw Dr. Merifield 10 years ago after 2 years of chronic pain. He said it wasn't okay that I was on so much medicine and that I needed to be taken off. I was incredulous. He said the pills were having an opposite effect. He sent me to a pain therapist and slowly started tapering me off the drugs. He was right. Once I was off the medicine my pain didn't change. I would have been on pain meds for forever if he had not forced me to. Life was miserable on opiates. He gave me my life back.
He doesn't listen. He believes that a person can only have 3 migraines a month. He refuses to treat back pain on older people, as everyone old has back pains. He seemed afraid of the new laws regulating narcodics.
