Burger joints in Houston are serious business. With sharp competition like Christian's Tailgate, a proper Heights (gastro) Icehouse, other burger-makers in town better up their game. Their White Oak location was perfectly adapted to its surroundings, with its Austin-like semi-open-air structure, which is different from their proper sports bar facility in Midtown. Used to be good when Steve owned it. New owners (running the place remotely) are out of touch with local neighborhood events and local neighborhood patrons. It explains the fall in quality. For example, simple thing such as calibration of beer taps or lack of knowledge of local suppliers, favoring national chains (for near term discount and long term local turn-off)
