Horrific and invalidating experience. Rushed in with an inconsolable 2 year old with a leg injury. Provided a written report from school as well as viewable video of the incident which were shared with providers. Was told to go home and ice a sprained ankle when my child actually had a fractured femur (never considered) and required a surgical procedure at the hospital. Cannot believe we were sent home in the state of pain he was in and cannot imagine the outcome if I followed advice and did not seek care elsewhere.
Rushed in with an inconsolable 2 year old with a leg injury. School had video of the incident which was shared with providers. We were sent home and told it was probably a muscle strain and to just give ibuprofen and he’d be fine. He was clearly not fine. I had to advocate and go through our pediatrician the next day to realize they sent us home with a broken femur and a baby in completely inconsolable pain for 24 hours.
