About this business

Chino Latino in artsy Uptown is usually wall-to-wall people, noisy and busy. Chino Latino is about dressing well, being current and making the scene. Look for the sparkly glitter marquee. If you can, stake out a large round, comfortable booth or group size table. The food and drink is as chic as the crowd. The menu features dishes from south of the border and Asia with many selections being hot and spicy. Choose from tacos, enchiladas, tostadas, Sweet and Sour Chicken, spring rolls stuffed with shrimp, chicken or noodles, sh... read more

Hot Monkey Love – I love this place. The food is great. The desert is to die for and the drinks are strong. The service leaves a lot to be desired, except for the cuties behind the bar. If you don't mind the loud hum of tacky pick-up lines, then this is the place for you.

Chino-Rip-me-off-O – Chino Latino is unique to Minneapolis, and that is about the best thing I can say about it. After going to Asia de Cuba in NY, we now see where the concept was stollen from. Unfortunately our version does not hold a candle to it's East Coast step-sister. And might I add, the prices at Asia de Cuba are lower plus the quality of food is much higher. Still drinks and appetizers are fun at Chino Latino as long as you have a lot of cash ($12 cosmos) and your expectations for a great meal aren't too high. Peop... read more

Creative Dining – Definately try the Tostada de Tinga if you like spicy food. A must try! Many selections (most appetizers are enough for a meal) of all varieties of food in the Hot Zone. Go often for the food, but be prepared for the crowds!

Only go if you like a FUN atmosphere – Chino Latino is fun, fun, fun. It features foods from the "hot zones" and it is a hot zone all by itself. I have had good food and some not so great food there, but I always have FUN. It can be a bit expensive but if you order wisely and especially with a group you can keep the price down. They do have a great happy hour. I would never get the lobster thingy again - it was bit overpriced for what you get although the presentation was pretty impressive.

One of the top spots for MINNEAPOLIS – This place is awesome! Great Food, Beautiful people, Good Times! I went with a large group of friends(20y/o ad creatives) on a Tuesday night. It was packed and alive! Just imagine Fridays and Saturdays! The waitstaff from the hostess to the busboy were very attentive. If you are expecting this place to be like NYC, ATL, Chi-town, Miami- don't go. I have lived in South Beach(Miami Beach, Chicago and Europe. I often vacation in Boston and New York. So, I know what "cool" and "hip" are. Fo... read more

Great food, awful atmosphere – The food is great, the prices are a little high but reasonable for the quality of food, the service is so-so, and the atmosphere and the clientel keep me from going back.

Somewhat overrated – Great location and atmosphere, but with mediocre food and so-so service it is overrated. However, no argument can be made that is not a great place to people watch or meet a few of them.

Monkeys in your Fruity Drinks – Throbbing music, futuristic backlit bar, eclectic (if sometimes not perfectly executed menu), and plastic zoo creatures in your potent and pretty cocktails. A destination for out-of-town guests. Skip the entrees and order 'Little Dishes to Share'. And go valet - so much easier than finding a spot in Uptown.

Guinea pig? That's just gross. – I find it absolutely disgusting that this establishment serves guinea pig -- something many people in America have as a pet. When the waiter has to warn you not to look at the table next to you because of what they ordered, it shouldn't be on the menu. If Chino is trying to be "hip and trendy" this is taking it too far.
