I have been a patient for less than 6 months and have not had a worse experience in any doctor's office as I have in this office. The receptionist staff cannot keep up with scheduling; the billing department has blatantly lied regarding authorizations for procedures leaving me with astronimical debt, and Dr. Ung's general rapport is "hi" and "bye" with no real consultation. I don't know how they have a license.
I don't know what is going on in this poorly run office, but they wasted a month of my time attempting to sign up as a new patient. I am new to the area and looking for a new pain management office. I first called and then visited in person to sign a record release. Heard nothing for weeks. Called and reminded them I was waiting. Got a referral as well. So after a month of waiting the office calls, says, I am not accepted! Because I take Cymbalta. What?? Asked for explanation, nope. Bizzare!
Dr Ung helped me get significant pain relief and I'm confident he is a concerned care giver. However, the level of incompetence by his office staff is nothing short of amazing. On multiple occasions we had to cancel and reschedule procedures because his office staff had not contacted my insurance co for approval.
Dr. Ung put me at ease almost as soon as he walked in the room. He has a calming presence and a very friendly yet professional bedside manner. After years of suffering with degenerative bone disease in my neck and almost no relief at the Veteran's hospital, Dr. Ung's treatment all but alleviated the pain within just a couple of days, and it lasted almost six months. If the V.A. will once again approve it, I am hoping to return to Dr. Ung for further treatment in the near future.
He has always been very professional and cares about my health and the best option for me as a patient. I followed him from Carilion.
He is an amazing doctor. Explains everything throughout every procedure even if you've been through it many times. He truly cares about his patients and understands how life altering living with certain levels of pain can be.
