Chez Pierre is one of Tallahassee’s oldest restaurants and has become a local favorite. Chez Pierre first opened its doors in October of 1976 in downtown Tallahassee as a fine-dining restaurant. Eric Favier became the owner of Chez Pierre in 1991 and moved the location to Midtown in 1996. After years of being know for its upscale cuisine and dining experience, Eric had the vision to take the restaurant in a new direction and to a new level. In 2007, Chez Pierre began its transition to bistro-style dining to adapt to ch... read more

Perhaps the service is poor due to management enforced mandatory tip-pooling. This system invites the better server to not perform as well, because they have to carry the bad servers monitarily. The servers that work in a mandatory tip pooling environment are generally over-all not great workers. Anyone remember communist Russia? Same theory...no matter what the work input, same pay scale.
Since we moved to Tallahassee in 2004, we have been big fans and frequent visitors of Chez Pierre. Yet in the past few months we have noticed that the food quality has dramatically decreased while the ambience has changed (beautiful terrace and bar under the yellow awning) and the prices are still the same. We had lunch at Chez Pierre yesterday and were extremely disappointed. We ordered the goose liver pate as appetizer, which they tried to serve us without bread. When we were just starting our hors doeuvre, they served us ... read more
Ive been dining at Chez Pierre for years and they continue to amaze me. Each visit, the menu seems fresh and interesting, the food quality and presentation gets better and the service seems more professional and hospitable. I dined there just last weekend with a large group of friends (celebrating a 35 birthday) and we had a fantastic time. The pastry chef made a special cake for us, we booked a private room, we even called ahead and asked the chef to make a special lobster dish for some of us....we all had one of the best d... read more
I visited this restaurant to celebrate a dear friends birthday. The server went out of his way to make our experience a wonderful one. The food was delicious; each of our entrees were excellent. The restaurant itself was just perfect: elegant, charming and perfectly lighted. We all had a delightful experience and we will return again.
Ive dined at Chez Pierre many times before and have always enjoyed the meal. However, last nights experience was outstanding. My wife had the sea bass and I had the duck - both wonderful examples of great flavor and beautiful presentation. The service was efficient and gracious. The atmosphere and the red wine really put us in a romantic mood.Next time we have a babysitter, were going back.
Went here for lunch and got the croque monsieur. Very heavy. The "frenchy fries" were not very tasty and also very heavy. The prices matched. Left feeling overly stuffed and greasy. I wont be coming back, but the place isnt terrible.
I have had dinner there once, and it was my last. It was not only expensive but you get nothing for the price you pay. Very bland food, nothing exciting. The bar atmoshpere is great outside. I enjoy that part for happy hour until my tab and a friends tab each had too many drinks "suspiciously" added on to it. When we kindly confronted the waitress and mangamenet they did there part in refunding the bill but with a very rude "could care less" attitude. I will certainly return for happy hour but I will keep a count on the drin... read more
Expensive, bland food and pretension. Went there one time and the service was glacial. Absurdly expensive for a restaurant that would be considered mediocre in any decent sized city. This is the only French restaurant in town, so it gets a pass every time. People go back over and over to be robbed and dont realize it, (Jamais vu). The owners likely decided it was safe to cook in a city that had never tasted French cuisine and would not know the difference.
