I just became a member and a volunteer. I just tagged along for my first kayak tour to get an idea for how things worked. Thanks to Courtney Leigh, I walked away a little more knowledgeable about the environment. Great place. I'm looking forward to going back.

Son and I learned a lot, got wet (twice-- oops!), skilled up, had some laffs, and got exercise... ALL good-- we are Certified! See you on the water!
We make this a regular part of our visits to Annapolis. There are multiple hiking trails, wildlife overlooks, a rescue aviary, and gardens. You can rent kayaks or a canoe to explore the surrounding waterways. You can experience marsh, meadow, and woodland habitats. The center's buildings demonstrate various renewable and eco-friendly technologies. Great place for a picnic. You can spend 90 minutes to 6 hours...
CBEC is one of the finest examples of an organization dedicated to the preservation of the Chesapeake Bay, the protection of its wildlife and the education needed for sustainability of the environment. The recent fundraising event held there, PaddlePalooza, was an exceptional display of CBEC's 500 acres of stunning water views, wildlife, kayaking opportunities, hiking trails and the new innovative Grow Dome project. Excellent summer camp program! My daughter has had a wonderful week and is already asking to come next year....now I know to sign up for more than one week from the start!
Enjoyed our guided kayak tour today - looking forward to a hike in the fall. Love supporting this great organization to keep the bay healthy!
