Great people and relaxing atmosphere. My parents took me there and now I take my kids and I hope my kids can take their kids!!!
One of my absolute favorite places to camp & float!! We haven't made it down in a couple years cause we've been busy, but we usually go several times a year & plan on starting that tradition up again soon! I highly recommend it :-)
The people are very nice. The water was swift although we didn't float. The camp grounds were pretty clean. The property is pretty close to the highway so expect some road noise and occasional sirens. We pull a 27 ft bumper pull. I will tell you it's a bit tricky getting in and out because of the loose rock at the steep hill entrance. Someone had parked in front of the dump so we waited until we go to a Flying J to dump. I really enjoyed my experience at Cherokee Landing. It's much smaller than many places near Steelville, but I really enjoyed that. The Cherokee Landing family is very accommodating and treat you like family!

Cherokee Landing is the best ambassador for the Big River. They bend over backward to share a beautiful little stretch of River with everyone. Excellent recreational value for floating, camping, etc. Steve and the whole staff are always very friendly & accommodating. They are also excellent stewards of the section of River they put people on!
I was the host at Cherokee landing for one season and I loved it. I feel that their 6 mile float is the best around. Not crowded like other outfitters on the river. Steve Anderson was the best boss..lol...I encourage everyone to visit..you will love it too.
