Cheese Haven is a pricey, but high quality store located in a vacation area. The employees are busy enough to make it seem they don't pay attention to customers, but that means they're occupied. Their variety of over 250 cheeses states their purpose. They have beef jerkey for around 20 a pound, most cheese is over 12 bucks a pound, and the wine is about the same scale. Stopped by Saturday. First time to visit. Arrived at 5:35 ,plenty of time to shop since Internet shows 7:00 closing. Oops you were closed. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. ZERO STARS FROM ME. Was never given a chance to like ir dislike.
I really had a great time. I was there, yesterday, as part of a wine tasting bus trip. I sampled so many wonderful things, besides the wine. I tried one thing, I was sure I wouldn't like. I had never heard of candied jalapenos. I figured, "Why not?". I loved them so much, heat and all! I sampled those a few times and brought home a jar. I, also, tried and bought chocolate cheese.
I stopped here yesterday. It was my first visit since I was a kid, who grew up in Norwalk. The cheese selection is outstanding and they had some cheddars that we can't get in Columbus. I wish they had some Cojita, which is a nice Mexican cheese. They may have and I missed it. The selection in the store is primarily from local companies, like Mon Ami wineries, which is awesome. Whenever I'm at the lake I stop at Cheese Haven and will continue too. I do wish the employees were a bit more friendly and helpful. Seemed as if they just wanted their day to be over and get out of there. It was later in the afternoon and very few people in the store. Thought the employees could have been more helpful.
They have a lot to choose from but the service is awful! They are extremely rude and and never even offered assistance while we stood looking at the cheeses discussing what we thought we should get. I'll go to grandpas cheese barn next time!

Angela, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. We are out of season, which means we will be closing for winter very soon. We have a very minimum amount of staff right now, I'm sure it was not their intention to be rude. It's best to ask for help and not assume someone knows you need help. Thank you have a nice day.
Cheese was so good. I wish there were more types of cheap crackers to get but that has zero to do with how good the cheese was!
