I have trees that fell from the Noreaster that we just had last weekend. My neighbor recommended Cheap Charlies. I called and the office told me that the estimator would text me when he was on his way. He never did and walked to my backyard and looked at the trees and was about to leave without even knocking on my door. I asked why he didnt text me and he said he did. Very unhappy with my recent experience with this Company. I called and requested an estimate and was told that I had to wait 2 weeks for an estimate, which I was fine with. On the day of the scheduled estimate, I called in the morning and was told that I would receive a phone call when the person was on their way to do the estimate. No one ever showed up. They don't even deserve that one star. HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE, UNPROFESSIONAL, MESSY, RUDE, UNORGANIZED! There's a reason they're called "CHEAP". DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They claim to be The Best of Long Island winner, I just spoke to them and they haven't been a winner in years. BEWARE!

I set up an appointment for these guys to come to my Mom's house and give us an estimate on tree trimming and shrub removal and they told me they would be there between 9-4. I called in the morning for a better estimate but was told the hours were the same 9-4. After waiting all morning, I called again around 1:30pm and the woman said they usually finish around 3 on a Friday so I should expect them very soon. They never showed up and never called me. Cheap Charles put a hole in the side of my home and won't return calls. They are costing me thousands and won't even return a call. I must now take them to court and see how that goes. This was done when I wasn't home and could have hurt or killed someone in the house. I wish I could have them arrested for this.

BEWARE They come to give you a "free estimate" make you sign the estimate and if you don't cancel within three days they can charge you. BUT IT IS OKAY for them to cancel your appointment with no notice. I took a day off as they were suppose to show up to cut trees. They never showed, when I called the office they said the driver called you and left a message????? Nice way to conduct business, the secretary who booked my appointment should have called me not the driver...and I NEVER GOT A CALL, so it cost me vacation time. T... read more

Big scammers from the get go !!! Avoid this company at all cost. Jimmy , the estimator guy , the biggest trickster ( not to mention, nasty as hell on the phone , if there's an issue). Listen/ read up on this clowns negative reviews. I wish I did before I used them today !

I have used this company in the past about 12 years ago and dealt directly with the owner. I am sad to report that they are now a useless company that makes promises and does not keep them. I called two weeks ago to schedule an appointment, the woman on the phone told me they could come by two days later and it would be between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. A few months ago, I purchased a single-family, detached house. As a result of the purchase I acquired a homeowners insurance policy, which required that I trim all portions of adjacent trees that overhang within the roof line of my house, due to the liability presented by potential fallen tree limbs to the house.
