Cheaha State Park Located in Clay and Cleburne Counties, Cheaha State Park is the pinnacle of natural beauty and awe in Alabama. Surrounded by the Talladega National Forest, this foothill of the Appalachian Mountains holds the reputation of the highest point in Alabama. Standing 2,407 ft. above sea level, it is no wonder why the local Creek Indians named this place Chaha, meaning high place.

I love Cheaha and have gone there most of my life. However, when I got there this past weekend and found out it is now $5 PER PERSON I was very disappointed!! My taxes pay for this park and I think that cost is ridiculous!
Some of the best memories of my life happened here!
Love the park! The scenery was beautiful. To change anything it would be to keep your maps in stock and the blue trail needs more clearly marked.
Cheaha State Park was my families FIRST experience camping, and it was awesome! Bathrooms and showers are clean, lots of trails to explore. Don't visit without stopping to catch the gorgeous views from Bald Rock. We didn't stay in the lodging so I can't comment on that but I'm assuming it's pretty great ;-)
Awesome View From Bald Rock!
We love this park, very clean, colors of fall are great. Thank you for the wooden boardwalk makes it very easy to see the trees.
One of the most beautiful parks, ever! Picked a perfect weather day in October, the leaves were changing. Just beautiful. The facilities are wonderful. The dining room had an incredible view. We had the buffet and enjoyed the country style cooking. Everyone at the store and the restaurant was very friendly and made us feel welcome. already planning on going back and taking our granddaughters very soon. Ron and Betty Lou Gillespie Dadeville, Al
This park is wonderful. The trails are well kept up and the views are amazing. The parks buildings are rustic but clean. The store is a nice place to break from a hike and the lake is a nice place to cool off. I love coming here
