Awesome beef on weck. Had to have my fix while in Buffalo. Turned my son on to the delicacy which he loved. Highly recommend and don't forget the horseradish.
A local institution... the beef on weck is perfect. Simple, perfectly designed with the caraway seeds, kosher salt and kummelweck bun, the roast beef is rare, just the right amount of au jus and real horseradish to add to your liking. Honestly one of the top 5 things I've eaten. Fantastic.
Sooo. After dropping my son off to school in Rochester we headed back to Ohio. My husband told me if I ever heard about buffalos famous roast beef weck sandwiches ? I had no clue. We looked up the top 10 best weck in buffalo and guess who was #1? Yep. We loved that it was a small road side stop- a quick bite before heading back to Ohio. We loved it so much we bought buns from them and went home to watch the Steelers and made our own sandwiches that same night.
