Charlie Parker's Diner has been Springfield's tradition for over two decades. Cindy and Mike Murphy have been successfully running the show ever since they acquired the eatery in the year 2009. The diner occupies an old military Quonset structure on West North Street. If you have an appetite for massive portions, Charlie Parker's Diner is sure to please you with its mammoth 16-inch crepes and other wholesome preparations. We’ve been coming to Charley Parker’s for years and if you are in Springfield,IL it’s a must! The service is fast & the food is amazing! The staff is so friendly & the prices are great.
I have been there many times and this time it was one of the worst breakfasts I've ever had. Breakfast Horseshoe was mediocre at best. Hash browns were chewy and eggs were overcooked. Sausage patties were barely cooked. Waitress said she'd be right back with more coffee four times before she actually did. My coffee was cold by then. They used to have the best coffee. It was weak. Tasted like warm brown water. I've sent people there for years who wanted a suggestion. No more.
We stopped at this little cute place 4-7-18 we our two teenagers. Great, fast, and friendly service! Food was great! Definitely will make it a stop when we visit Springfield again.
My favorite place to go when around Springfield! Always live taking someone who has never been. Usually outside of building worries them till I get them in for the GREAT FOOD.
Business response:
Thanks Jamie!
Service was alright, food was nothing special. It was edible, but we expected more from a place that was featured on a national television show. We won’t be back, I can cook better burgers in my own kitchen for less. We did enjoy the atmosphere, loved the diner motif.
Besides subpar service, the food is okay at best. But the whole shaming mothers who are legally breastfeeding their children was the last straw for me to never spend another dollar there.
Very disappointed. Babies need to eat too. No one would care if a woman walked in and basically had her breasts hanging out of top. #stopbreastfeedshaming #shameonyou
