Dr. Shapiro has been part of my health care team at Kaiser Permanente since the seventies. He is an exceptional urologist with a stellar demeanor. Dr. Shapiro performed the reversal procedure to enable my husband to father two more babies. Throughout the years, Dr. Shapiro also treated my husband for prostate cancer successfully. Additionally, he was monitoring my kidneys for suspicious growth. I'm forever grateful for his dedication to me as his patient.
Avoid! They set up appointments 6 weeks in advance. These are phone meetings, not in person. Then they fail to call that the time they offer. So you will call them and wait on hold for 15 minutes to get on the phone with a receptionist who sees your meeting and thinks the doctor is very busy. So she will put you on hold to check. And then she will hang on up on you with no way to call back. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
What a great doctor. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Shapiro a couple of times. His office staff is courteous and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Shapiro clearly enjoys taking care of patients and interacting with them. He took the time explaining and answering questions. He listened to me and engaged me in the care planning. I also like how he takes the time to summarize our discussion, care plan and next steps in writing at the end of each visit. I very highly recommend him.
