About this business

Champa Thai and Sushi's cuisine reflects our home province in Northern Thailand. It's different than other parts of Thailand because of our shared borders with the countries of Laos and Myanmar. The cuisine of this region shows heavy influences from each of these bordering nations. This adds a variety that makes our specialty dishes unique.

OK Sushi, great Pad Thai – We like this restaurant and have returned a number of times, especially on, I believe it is Tuesday night, when there was live jazz. Service is spotty and it can take an age, but usually the restaurant is full, so I guess they are busy. The food varies in quality and is inconsistent. That said, we have not had a really bad meal there, but sometimes the flavor is not all there. I would not go here purely for sushi, there are many better sushi places, and Champa's sushi is not cheap. However, the Pad... read more

Good food, good service – Great Sushi and Pad Thai! Good, quick service but there can be a wait at lunch at dinner because it is a pretty popular place. Highly recommended

good for a date – i went here last night and thought it was pretty average. the presentation of the food is nice and the service is really friendly, but the food itself is just all right--not worth the high prices especially with the portion sizes. you won't leave hungry but you won't have any leftovers either. the items i really like here are the pad kao and basil fried rice, but even those i don't think are worth the money--$13 at restaurant for a plate of rice i can make at home? as for the sushi, ive had it here a few ti... read more

Just check your credit card online after dining in – I found I was charged more than pre-authorization. I faxed and notified the restaurant but they did not get back with me. Just correct the amount. Just not a pleasant place for me to go again.

Inconsistent is the best description – I've been to Champa over 10 times. The reason I stopped going is because of the inconsistency. The sushi is really good sometimes and just so so other times. The service can be really good. There is one waitress that knows us by name and if we are seated in her section then all is well. Otherwise, it's very slow and my husband who orders Thai always gets his food way earlier (sometimes 15 min) than I get my sushi. It's as if there are two separate restaurants. I love their lobster rolls... read more

Always looking forward to coming back – We are regulars at this restaurant and every time we are very pleased with the food. As we are not the pickiest customers in terms of service and don?t like servers jumping around us too much, I have never noticed the staff being unprofessional as the other reviewer mentioned. The food, mainly sushi, is what we go there for and are always pleased with the quality and selection. The service is fast, so it is our favorite place for lunch, as we work in RTP. I would recommend it to anyone... read more

Atrocious customer service – With so many excellent restaurants in the Triangle area I've gotten spoiled with the the "triple threat" restaurants: spectular food, delightful atmosphere and professional staff. In an attempt to make reservations, the male that answered the phone told us "no reservations and expect an hour wait because we are wildly popular". When asked if the wait time could be reduced by arriving early, he responded by saying "I don't have time for this" and hanging up. Given our country's current economic un... read more

Awesome Sushi – My boyfriend and I stopped by Champa two weekends ago and it was awesome! Even the the soy sauce was out of this world. And the warmed saki was very smooth and almost sweet tasting after tasting the sushi. We will be back there soon.
