If you want something a little different – We have a six couple group that goes out in December each year - this go round I booked Chamas. Overall, it's a decent place, well worth one try. The salad bar has a variety of different things and is very fresh. The all-you-can-eat beef, chicken, fish, pork scenario is goo too. They could stand to not cook the meat so well done. The beef that was prepared medium had by far the best flavor. The waitress did not ask our party butshould have separated the checks. At the end, she asked... read more
Great Food Even If You Don't Eat Steak – I would highly recommend this restaurant to people that don't even eat steak. I don't eat red meat (although I was tempted after seeing the skewers of meat) but really enjoyed the smoked salmon and all the salads. The waitstaff was attentive and very friendly even for our large party. We took a visiting dignitary there and she was very impressed.
A fun experience, a lot of food – My wife and I went to Chamas on Saturday night, 7:30pm. It was not full (important for such a service-heavy meal). Service was excellent; only one error (asked twice for more cheese rolls. Waiter was extremely appologetic). We had to turn our "more meat" tokens to "NO" temporarily to avoid getting overwhelmed! The meat was well-seasoned and good, but those who require their beef cooked R-to-MR will need to ask for special cuts. Their signature drink was excellent; fresh lime, bright and nice... read more
User review by durhamhp – Too expensive to be considered an all occasion restaurant, but good for special occasions. Unless you want to stuff yourself to the point of uncomfortable, it will be difficult to get your money's worth. The ambience is nice, though, the service is good and the food was tasty.
I left with a full belly! – I treated 3 clients to dinner at this restaurant. I feel like I was the one that got treated! The food was unique, the service was top notch and I left with a full belly. This restaurant was unlike anything that I have experienced before and I eat at a lot of great places. The Top Sirloin was the best I've ever had in my life.
Worst experience ever! – It seems like a lot of these reviewers have never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before. I've been to 2 others, both much, much better. Went with 6 other people. Service was awful! Were there 2.5 hrs, yet some cuts of meat never came to our table. We rarely saw the waitress. We were waiting so long between servers, the busboys kept trying to take our plates away. Chicken and fillet were dry and tasteless. If it had been a decent-tasting meal, the price would have been okay, but for the meal we got, I... read more
What a GREAT Surprise!!! – This was simply the best dining experience of my life! From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed! It is probably one the most beautiful places in this area. First, the steaks are unbelievably excellent. There is a quality that I can't describe but there's a remarkable difference in the taste, they explanted that is not marinated and it is grilled in a Brazilian style. The salad bar is amazing, but don't forget you come for MEAT... I was also impressed with their wine room, great selectio... read more
AMAZING!!! Very unique, delicious, and fun – I have never done this before--write comments to a business, but after visiting your restaurant I found myself obligated to share my experience with all my Raleigh-Durham friends. I was skeptical with the fact it was a Brazilian steakhouse restaurant, and I did not know what to expect. I was completely unprepared for my first visit to Chamas, but from the moment we entered until the time we left; I have to say I was amazed!!! The wine selection was truly amazing as well as the nev... read more
Very Expensive – My significant other and I often like to try well-known eating places, especially when they pop up in the triangle area. I felt like the food was VERY good but not spectacular for the price. The communication with our waiter was weak, and my friend and I both felt like it had nothing to do with his ethnicity. I felt like the salad bar food had way too much garlic on it as well. The best thing about Chamas is the meats and desserts. If it had been 20 dollars cheaper it would have been totally worth it.
