Chalet Is Nothing Special The Chalet draws a good lunch time crowd with their sandwiches and burgers. The chicken fajita wrap is delicious and vegetable soup is warming. Cannot always guarantee to be stocked with key ingredients (chocolate for chocolate milkshakes, chips for nachos, etc...) but the cabin decor adds to the family setting.

happy trucker Im sorry to here about the problems this place has come a cross. I visited this Restauant and found it to be totally the oppisite. the food was all made from scratch, when I commented to the server about the pot roast.She said we make are own even the mashed potatoes. We make every thing from scratch. you should try are pancakes. I came in the morning they were the best. thank you for being here.

Out of everything I had made prior arrangements to meet my friends there, as they are employed close by. We met at around 7:30 pm, the restaurant was not busy at all, only a couple of tables were occupied. We ordered iced tea, the waiter said that they were out, we felt that we would have drank a pitcher, but they didn't make any effort to make some for us, 2 of us ordered prime rib, they were out of it too, my friend had to ask for silverware, and he had to ask twice, the baby red potatoes were so hard that I had to cut the... read more

yuck I did not really like the service here and really would not reccommend it to many. They were way to slow and disorganized and I had not even came in the busy part of the day. They need more training. PROS: CONS: slow

Awful experience Worst place I have been to in a long time. The food was not very good, and the service was awful.had to ask twice, flagging down another waitress, for water. My wife asked the waitress a simple question about the pie, and the waitress, Jennifer, called my wife an obscene name as she walked away without answering the question. I have eaten at the Chalet in Newport as well, and was pleased, but this place isn't even in the same class.it was a terrible experience.

downhill? This restaurant has been open for many years in Salem. The quality of the food and service has slowly gone downhill over the years. I would not recommend it.

downhill? This restaurant has been open for many years in Salem. The quality of the food and service has slowly gone downhill over the years. I would not recommend it.
