Be careful with the interventional radiology team....you do not get to choose who treats you and devices are placed without proper informed consent.. Dr Mayekawa was not a physician chosen by us. Cedars picked him out of a hat for my mother who was told she would need an IVC filter placed following spine surgery. At the time of the procedure, a very frightened vulnerable patient was told this procedure is absolutely necessary, that this device would be placed and removed within 6 months. Dr. Spencer is awesome, he's the emergency room doctor here. He takes time explaining everything to you, he doesn't rush you, he's very pleasant and he takes care of his patients as well.
