Free refill of best chai, complimentary appetizer, free baklava – Excellent food and service. Free refill of best indian chai, then complimentary appetizer, and finish with free baklava. What a deal. Super great service. My friend and I did not finish our complimentary appetizer so that we could save room for the entree and desserts. The waiter asked whether we were not happy with it. Great proactive seeking of customer feedback! Much better service than most expensive restaurants. Very attentive waiters and waitresses ensur... read more
yum... – just so that it is accurate, cedars doesn't pay minimum wage. They pay bussers $9-10/hr and servers $10-13/hr. So tips do count in some way. and the food is REALLY good. (Hint: The person taking your order is the supervisor)
great food, crowded but worth it – I think that anyone who says the food at cedars is not worth the service, i think that they are very wrong. The curry that i had was excellent and i am not a very big curry person. also the hummus, gyros plate, and garlic nan was to die for. we got there and there was a very long line to get in but it took us only about 7 minutes to be seated, the manager was there to oversee everything and was very nice. the waitor that filled our water was very nice and gave us suggestions and was patient... read more
User review by nikkispeaks – The BEST baklava in town! I love the treats they always bring when your meal is done. Definaly one of the best Indian places in Seattle.... BUT DON'T TIP... I asked an employee how the tips were divided and they said the owners pocket them. Then I asked a friend who use to work there and they said the same. As if those guys don't make enough money, do they really need to keep the staff tips when they pay minimum wage? Tips aside, the food is amazing!
Solid Indian And Middle Eastern Fare – Cedars has a diverse menu of Indian and Middle Eastern delicacies. It's always crowded and always fun. Dishes to get include butter chicken, tandoori cooked meats and incredle naan breads. Though Cedars is known as an Indian restaurant first, they also hold their own with a fine selection of Middle Eastern dishes. Their kebabs can hold their own to any place in town. A must get is their delicious bakhlava. Absolutely the best version in town, and made on the premises fresh daily.
Way too crowded! – It took a long time to get a seat, and there isn't enough room inside to wait (it was cold outside). Once we got our seats I kept getting bumped by the waitors and other patrons since the tables are too close together. The table they gave the 6 of us was barely larger than a 4 person table and we couldn't fit all the plates on the table. The food was good though and the manager and wait staff were nice.
Misunderstood? – I've been going to Cedar's for a few years now. I try to make it out there once a month. The owner, Mohammed, recognizes me and my friends now and is very pleasant and polite. Food is great (try the spinach naan, butter chicken, and chai tea). We often receive complimentary desserts from Mohammed, even before he knew us. I rarely run out of chai or water. The staff can seem rude, but understand that every table is full and there are 20 people waiting for you to leave. Be forewarned, they will clean your tabl... read more
User review by manmaya – My family and I have eaten at Cedars for years and we still love the great food and service! The place can get very busy as it is so popular, so there is a wait sometimes. However, you can call and make reservations ahead of time. The waitstaff is highly efficient, which some reviewers seem to find offensive, but I find it refreshing after being to numerous restaurants where you have to practically body tackle a worker to get any kind of service.
Great Food, Fast Service - Awesome Experience – Cedars has one of the best Indian foods in town. A testimony to the fact are the long lines you see on the wekends and some weeknights. Even at Lunch this place is doing amazing business. The service is fast and efficiient. The owner himself is there to make sure that your order is taken care of. The food and the portions are just great and not too much on your budget.
