I think the people who posted negative reviews just had personal bad experiences. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Cavalier Land. If I have a maintenance situation, it is fixed by the end of the day. I've never had to pay for anything that was broken. If you have a problem, there is a 24 hour emergency maintenance line. Someone always responds to a message left there within an hour. The leasing agent is a bit abrasive, but that's just her style. Skeptical of positive reviews – I'd be wary of positive reviews. Most of the ones I've seen sound pretty similar in form. Cavalier Land are just downright rotten people on the upper end of the company. Rotten to the core. Liars too. I am not free to cite specifics yet, but I will in the future.

Cavalier Land - HORRIBLE – This is the worst company in Norfolk to rent from. The people in the office will lie to you, take forever to do any maintenance, and never return phone calls. The main lady who does rentals would rather yell at you than to be nice. You would think if your job is to rent apartments you would be a bit nicer. The only time she was nice was when I put in my move-out notice. When returning the deposit, they will charge you out the A$$ for stuff you've never done or had any control over. RENTER BEWARE! Best apartments, best maintenance service – I have been a renter with Cavalier for about 16 years and really admire the professionalism of the entire staff -- particularly the maintenance staff, which is what most of my dealing have been with. On n umerous occasions I have called with a problem in the morning and by the end of the day the problem is corrected. I have been renting from cavalier land for over 5 years now and I have to say that They have one of the best maintenance team. Very professional and helpful. One of the main reason is how clean my building is thanks to cavalier land staff. I will recommend it to anyone.

Outstanding Rental Company – Since 1978 I have had the pleasure of renting from Cavalier Land. My experience has been overwhelming positive. The staff are responsive and professional in all interactions I have had with them. Repairs are completed in a timely manner and communication is consistently clear. There is no better property management company in Norfolk.

Thank You, Cavalier! – Our Building (in Ghent) began using Cavalier as our property managers a little over a year ago after using a few of the other Norfolk – based companies over the years. I can tell you that they have hands down been the best to work with. They’re attentive to every one of our needs and have actually taken a dull building built in 1918 and helped give it a glow again. Worst Company in Norfolk – I have had the unfortunate experience of doing business with this company and I have found that it doesn't matter if you are on time or late with your rent, or if you are speaking about one of the women that work in the office or all of them...This company is the definition of slum lord. Notice that there is only one comment at this point that actually defends this company but the reality is that if you want to feel like you are being pushed around then Cavalier is the company for you. Great Company – Every one of you obviously have never rented apartments from any Norfolk company before. Small animals are a problem everywhere in Ghent. The buildings are extremely old. So how about you clean your apartment, that would probably solve the problem. That has nothing to do with Cavalier Land. And "Tony" is actually a female so the correct way to write her name is Toni. Please learn to spell. Why would you sign a piece of paper you haven't read? They are just doing their jobs and its not the "lady at the front" ... read more
