2.5 stars - Had a lot issues with this provider's billing service. The provider's staff seemed to have no clue about any insurance/billing questions. Was overbilled for a service (they were listed as in-network for our insurance but charged out of network prices even though insurance claim showed them as being paid as in-network). On 3 different occasions speaking to their billing service we were told 3 different answers as to whether they were in network or not. 2.5 stars (Care from the Doctor is 4 stars, billing is 2 stars at best) We have had problems with questionable billing practices that we are still trying to get cleared up (for 3 months now).
I have been trying to get a CPAP (or APAP) for mild sleep apnea for close to 5 months now and have called this office at least a dozen times over the past 6 weeks due to the constant lack of communication and follow up with their billing department and insurance submittals. Been with Dr. Samarakoon's for 6 years now. He is a very Great & caring doctor. He has not only helped me with my cpap compliance, but, has also encouraged me to loose weight. I loss 140 pounds. Love this practice.
I am a disabled veteran suffering from a sleep disorder and I made the mistake of going to this facility to seek help. I was told my best option was to do a take home test that cost me $300 out of pocket. I told the doctor that I only sleep 2-4 hours straight a night. I was told to just record when I was actually asleep. I did the test and returned for my follow up- the doctor told me that the test was negative for sleep apnea but that the take home test has a high false negative rate.
