I have only had a consultation with Dr. Wadie, but I was so beyond impressed by the depth and breadth of his knowledge and the attentiveness and time he dedicated. I have spoken with several other surgeons about Pilonidal Disease, he was one of the most transparent and knowledgeable. It is so clear, even from a short interaction, that he cares *deeply* for his patients. His bedside manner is both compassionate and direct. Dr. Wadie is very skilled and knowledgeable and was excellent at communicating with me throughout the whole process.
Came from Alabama for the surgery. Stayed in hotel for a few days after the surgery then laid in the backseat for the trip home. With the exception of Blue Cross Blue Shield being a pain, this was worth the time and money. Everyone was great and I had zero issues. I will be reccomending this to friends and family if they are ever so unfortunate to experience the same problems.
Background on my history (Floridian who traveled to NC): Ages 19-36 had minor flare ups that either went dormant on their own or had to get I&Ds a few times. Age 37-38, cyst flared, drained but would not go away - scheduled to have cleft lift out of state in Texas bc they had a recovery care center I could be released to. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr Wadie if you need a pilo surgery! My son had 6 surgeries (yes, SIX), over 15 months, that failed. One procedure with Dr Wadie and it's over! We traveled 1300 miles to see him, but worth every mile and every penny! The communication is nothing short of amazing! Even now, my son is 3 months post op, and I still check in with Dr Wadie with photos and updates because he wants to make sure everything is still going well.
