I had to cancel my surgery because I didn't have the $974 prepayment (though I do have BCBS insurance) and was told if I didn't pay at least half upfront I would have to cancel. I had already paid out $800 in prepayments and didn't have any more money at the time. They wouldn't consider a payment plan. So much for the concern of my health. Money is more important!
