Cash required for alterations! After visiting a number of bridal salons, my daughter had a good experience at Carlisles and bought her bridal dress. It was reasonably priced and the consultant correctly ordered a size smaller than what my daughter usually wears. What people need to know is that alteration appointments are only made on Friday's and alterations costs are expected to be paid in CASH. This just didn't feel right.
Great Experience ... But Beware ALTERATIONS! Our experience at Carlisle's could not have been more satisfying. Our consultant was friendly, knowledgeable and able to show dresses that best suited my daughter's age & style. Although it was only our FIRST appointment -- in what we thought could be an endless search that might finally end only in New York -- we left that appointment with our order placed. She said "Yes To The Dress" - it was absolutely beautiful.
Great Experience I want out shopping with my mom for our 4th time, After many frustrating experiences at different salons around Pittsburgh I met Amanda at Carlisle's. She had such an ear for listening to exactly want I wanted and gave me a really nice experience. I bought my dress at Carlisle's and can not wait to go back to order my bridesmaids.
Pittgurl I literally left this store in tears they were so rude to me. I felt completely shunned because I wasn't buying one of their most expensive dresses. The salesgirl Amanda was both condescending and bitchy--it was awful and humiliating. I love the idea of a family business but it seems as though their sales staff needs an overhaul. This was an absolutely awful experience for me.
WATCH OUT We went to Carlisle's this weekend and had the WORST experience ever! I would not wipe my butt with a dress from that shop. The sales girl was SO mean and was so rude and arrogant! I bought my dress there a few years ago so I thought it would be a good place to go for my sister's dress.. DO NOT GO- Unless you want to be interrogated and treated like a five year old by total tanned up clubby wench that totally was hungover from late night at some trashy bar in the strip. Best bridal boutique in the Burgh!! I had an appointment with Amanda at Carlisle's and it was the most pleasant experience trying on bridal gowns I've ever had! Jan and Amanda were amazing to work with! I ended up buying a gown that was exclusive to their store right there on the spot, though I hadn't originally planned to purchase one that day. Wonderful!! I made an appointment with Carlisle's more or less as "practice" for my upcoming appointment at a more expensive store. I didn't really think I was going to buy a dress. But, Charlene was so helpful and attentive that I ended up finding my dream dress that very day!!! The ladies are very well-informed, attentive, classy and not pushy at all. No wonder they've been in business so long!!! This is a small store, with an cozy boutique atmosphere. A must-visit if you're a Pittsburgh-area bride.
Very friendly and helpful I did not end up getting my dress from Carlisles, but I am very glad that I experienced their establishment. The staff was very friendly and super accomadating. I really did find a dress that was fantastic, but it came in second to my ultimate choice. I would highly recommend visiting Carlisles!
Great store They have the most beautiful wedding dresses. I love the selection the staff and basically everything about it. My friend got her wedding gown there and I had to get my bridesmaid dress there. The cost was average but the seamstress and the service was wonderful. I am very thankful that the bride to be had such a good experience and more importantly so did I. Our dresses came in in a timely fashion and they look beautiful. They also have wonderful accessories to go with the gowns.
