Nice and small neighborhood bar atmosphere. Great service that shows they know what they are doing, with the knowledge of the menu which was great for us 1st timers. Very interesting lists for brews and grapes. Food was as requested and was of appropriate quantity, with a good plate display. We had the Yellowfin Tuna with green beans and the Shrimp & Crap Cake with mashed potatoes, which both came with a very fresh house salad. We will be back.
Service is a little slow, but expect some GREAT food! Wonderful wine and beer selection too :)
I have had the shrimp and grits twice at Captain Ratty's---the grits were rich and creamy and the shrimp was scrumptious, but it was the sauce drizzled on top that made me want to lick my plate clean.
I love this place! Great people and yummy food!
Always make at least one stop when we come to New Bern
We had an excellent meal tonight . 4 people had fish & chips which they said we're very good. One had shrimp and liked it. My wife had the sirloin steak and it was her best steak of the week trip we had. I had the slow boil dinner and it was delicious. We heard that the service wasn't very good but we had no issues at all and our server Grady was excellent! We will be coming back on our next visit to New Bern!

Have always been a fan of your wine tasting...but last nights was very disappointing...very poor service....and NO info on the wines were were tasting....very very disappointed....
