DON'T BELIEVE THE 5 STAR REVIEWS! Red Cedar Cafes previous owners sold the cafe a little over two years ago. The majority of the favorable reviews are for the previous owners run of the joint. The latest owners have run this once great coffee shop into the ground! Don't be surprised if you show up and find a "Closed for team building exercise" or "We will reopen [insert arbitrary date here]". I usually don't do "these" but this may be my new favorite spot! (I wish I could give it more stars) It being my first time there, I love how the staff was not down my throat to make a decision but gave me time to look over the menu (I can be a bit indecisive) and the one guy there (who looked pretty busy) stopped what he was doing to take my order and made it promptly. Used to love going for baked goods but everytime I have gone recently there have been none. We stood at the counter for a few minutes and left when no one came up to the counter. Very disappointed in products and service.
Disappointed. I feel like the cafe is going downhill. Have had positive experiences over the past few years but... only one staff person to cover lunch today. When asked about soup he listed them but said none were ready. Really?? At 12:30 pm? Chicken salad not good; very few baked goods and most of them mislabeled. Really hoping they can ,ale a comeback.
My friend & I came for lunch. This was our first visit. I was a disaster. The young man that waited in us was rude. He was bored he said & walked away A 2nd young man took our order a salad with,lettuce,tomato,feta cheese,dried cherries.croutons,cukes & chicken. Both salads came without feta & they said we are out of it. No cukes out of those My friend had to ask for her chicken. For this we paid $8.95. REALLY? We will never go back. Just horrible experience. The men working acted like they didn't care. .
Today I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich and cup of coffee. I was the only customer in the whole place. I asked a few questions while ordering, the gentleman who was helping me did not seem very informed. When I got my sandwich the bacon and egg were both burnt. I discovered this after I left because my food was to-go. Coffee was good, but I was NOT pleased with the sandwich.
