It sounds like you’ve never eaten authentic Vietnamese spring rolls before and maybe you didn’t understand what you actually ordered. Spring rolls are mainly rice noodles and vegetables wrapped in a transparent rice paper and usually contain a cold cooked meat such as pork, shrimp or chicken.
