We had a disappointing experience tonight. My husband and I dropped in for a quick bite while our daughter was at church group. The male bartender was less than enthusiastic. He didn't explain anything about the beer menu like the female bartender did when she offered menus to other customers. I ordered a glass of wine that tasted stale. We ordered 2 sandwiches. Just stopped in for lunch (too early for a good lager), was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the selections. My husband had the French Dip sandwich, I had the Schnitzel Sandwich. Both were fantastic! Will definitely go back for seconds!
the service was not good, at all. May have been a new waitress but unknown. we waited 15 minutes before she took our order; it took 40 min to get a grilled chicken salad and hamburger and then 15 min for the waitress to correct our bill because we were overcharged...on the plus side, food was good.
Business response:

New staff member or not, hospitality is important to us and the lack of attention and concern with timeliness is a serious concern. Please reach out to me at linzy@capitalalehouse.com to share specific details like the time, date, and receipt number if you still have it. We would like to investigate and assure we coach or revisit training with our team if needed. I look forward to hearing from you soon and thank you again for letting us know. Sincerely, Lin... read more
Outstanding. Huge bar. Great wait staff. The cheese/bee soup was delicious.ious. The Bavarian pretzel was humongous. It's a definite stop for our next visit.
