This Southern Italian favorite in the North End has been popular since it opened in 1931. You will spot the big, neon sign over the bustling scene on Hanover Street. The dining room is filled with tables, plush plastic booths, ornate posters and bright lighting. Hearty, traditional meals are the draw. Expect to see generous portions of spaghetti and meatballs, chicken parmigiana, lasagna and veal piccatta. No fusion is allowed, but the red sauce has something of a cult following. The restaurant also serves beer and wine.

RecommendedHad reservations at another restaurant but they were rude when we walked in a half hour early. Went to Cantina Italiana and Omar the waiter sat us down within 15 minutes. The food is all homemade , and very reasonably priced. Very friendly staff, Omar’s recommendation were spot on. Will be back
Amazing meal and service!
We spent the day in the North End sight seeing and shopping. Stopped in for a drink and stayed for dinner. top notch food. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing food. Great wine selection and reasonable
Waiter Sal could have cared less. Left us for 10 minutes while waited on others, forgot drinks from bar, brought other tables bread yet we had to ask, never mentioned specials. Menu is restaurant is different from online. Food we had very good. Unfortunately service put a damper on what was supposed to be a family dinner, there was 9 of us.
Great atmosphere, the staff are absolutely perfect and the food is on another level.
